ABSTRACT

This research was conducted to investigate how Laundry subject learning based on Self-Determination Learning Model have an effects on the subject in majoring vocational education and the possibility of independent performance,appropriate relationship with co-workers, working capability within a group,understanding job etiquettes, and the ability to respond to authority. The subjects of the study were twenty students with Intellectual Disabilities in special-education school in Chungcheongnam-do. The test was carried out from October 30 to November 30, four times a week for five weeks, 80 minutes in each session. Work Personality Profile(WPP) was used to measure the changes of the abilities of vocational adaptation. The Work Personality Profile which consists of 58 items is a comprehensive and behavior-oriented work assessment tool that can evaluate the results of the analysis of the contents based on 11 reasonable transfer criteria and 5 factors criteria. Pre-test was conducted by using the tool before the Laundry class based on Self-Determination Learning Model and then post test was performed to see what the changes are. The following is the results of the research:The Laundry class based on Self-Determination Learning Model had a positive effects on their abilities to perform works independently, to have appropriate relationships with co-workers, to perform works within a group, to understand the work-related etiquettes, to respond to authority as shown by the fact that the result of post-test was higher than that of pre-test
