ABSTRACT

This study intends to analyze whether policyholder's moral hazard caused by reimbursement plan-private health insurance(hereinafter called "R-PHI") in the market of private health insurance and then, analyze the effects of introducing and expanding cost sharing in R-PHI. - 74 - It analyzed the changes of health care consumption by getting R-PHI based on the days of hospital treatment and going to hospital. As the result, the group who didn't get R-PHI showed more health care consumption than the group who gets it. However, the group who gets R-PHI showed much higher weight of short-term health care consumption than the group who didn't get it. If considering the weight of short-term health care consumption like that, moral hazard exists in health care consumption of hospital treatment and going to hospital for a short term. In addition, it analyzed the changes of health care consumption by pre and post introducing․expanding of cost sharing in R-PHI. As the result, group under post- introducing․expanding cost sharing system showed less health care consumption than group under pre-introducing․expanding cost sharing system in hospital treatment and going to hospital.
