ABSTRACT

A lot of studies have been performed on the cause and cure of ADHD but, the accurate diagnosis of it is still unresolved. Even it's intervention depends on medication in much potion. Recently, with the rapid increase of ADHD children, this is bringing into sharp relief as one of social issues. Especially, the dangerousness of medication on ADHD is reporting by many researches. The necessity of reappraisal on it's medication is on the rise, therefore. This study perceives this as a problem of existing paradigm, and presented it's point at issues. Through this work, a new ADHD paradigm that sees ADHD on the positive psychological approach is suggested. The basic problem of the existing paradigm is based on the physiological reductionism which sees human behaviors could be restored to physiological problem basically and the normal and abnormal dichotomy that regards even human behavior characteristics could be divided into normal or abnormal(disease). The new paradigm is a new perspective that would substitute the biological reductionism and sees human behavior tendency depends on the interaction between observable external environments and another persons. At the positive psychological point of view which tells psychology is not merely on disease, a week point and damaged but merits and virtues, cure of ADHD children means not just cure a fault but developing affirmative sides. On this judgement the education, discipline, and living that adjusted to child's needs and traits should be provided instead of providing physiological treatment on ADHD. Lastly, plans which find and cultivate individual's resources and strengths discussed as a new paradigm's task.
