ABSTRACT

The new course, 'educational service' have been included in the educational program for pre-service teacher in order to improve the program. The purpose of this study was to present strategies of design & implement on this course based on Service-Learning. The Service-learning combines service activities with students' learning in a way that improves both the students and the community. A literature review and a qualitative survey were performed to find out strategies. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1) Most of university managed their 'educational service' course by checking students' volunteering times. 2) In-service teachers want to be implemented in the following areas; teaching-learning, student guidance, and administration. Therefore, 'Educational service' course should be managed by considering the next strategies. First, 'Educational service' course should be connected with 'educational theory' course. Second, students should design their volunteering activities. Third, the course contains reflection guidance. Fourth, universities try to make partnership with their community and know it's volunteering needs.
