ABSTRACT

This thesis is written to clarify the hidden meaning of the ethics in Kim, Chun-Su's poems. The term, the positive passivity has been proposed to interpret the meaning of the process how the subject and the object can make the relationship. Due to the fact that the subject in Kim's poems comes to notice his own passivity through his meeting the other, the term is thought to be useful showing how the subject let himself to the other. The subject becomes the subject through the process that he comes under the territory of the passivity by letting himself to the other. By passing this course the subject can meet the other as the personal subject. Kim comes to understand the limit of the language facing the fact the language cannot designate the thing accurately enough. This leads him to think of the relationship between the subject and the object, and this can be accomplished only by the structure of the calling and the replying. Through this process he is thought to understand the meaning of the active passivity, because the replying can be done by the other in opposition to the calling.
