ABSTRACT
이 논문에서는 최근 과학교육 영역에서 강조되고 있는 STS 이론과 쟁점을 도덕교육적 목적을 위해 활용할 필요성에 주목하면서, 도덕교육과 STS 교육의 통합 방안을 탐색하고자 한다. 특히 본 논문에서는 학생들의 도덕 판단, 도덕적 민감성, 인식론적 신념, 과학과 사회의 관계에 관한 메타인지를 발달시키기 위해 STS 교육을 도덕교육에 통합시킬 수 있는 방안을 탐구할 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 STS 이론과 쟁점이 도덕교육의 일부로 포함되어야 할 이유를 밝히고, 도덕과 교육과정에서 도덕교육과 STS 교육을 통합시키기 위한 방법들을 구체적으로 제시할 것이다.
