The analysis of silk excavated from the graves of the Naklang Region, Pyongyang, was compared to that of China to reveal its identity. Not only was it proven that our nation’s production of silk tracesback to the neolith era, but that it was independently developed without the adaptation of foreign country’s method of production. Furthermore, the analysis also proved the error of Japanese excavator’s original assertion of the silk unearthed from the Naklang region to originate from China. Naklang District was established within Han District in 108 B.C. If Naklang District were located in Naklang Region of Pyongyang, the silk excavated here should show features of Chinese textile. However, all fabrics excavated from Naklang Region were analyzed to be woven with the silk of Gojoseon Silk Worm. Therefore, the remains or relics found in the Naklang region is higher in quality with originality in the way of weaving and technique when dyeing the fabric, compared to China’s of the same period. As for the facts shown by the cloth and fabric found, it can be seen that problems arise from the formerly accepted theory that Naklang state of Han located at the Basin of Daedong River. The Japanese reassured themselves that it was an incorrect understanding that all the related Naklang remains excavated from the ruins of the Basin of Daedong River are misunderstood to be those of the Naklang District of Han District. As a matter of fact, until now, there is no record showing that the remains and relics found at the Basin of Daedong River are from Naklang of Han District. Actually, although there were remains along with cloth and fabric of China and the northern at the graves of the Naklang region, due to a large quantity of Han people’s relics unearthed, it is presumed that this area was the Naklang ruled by King Choi-Lee. King Choi-Lee’s Naklang was found at least before 1st century B.C. and had continued to exist until 300 A.D. The excavated remains and relics of the Naklang Region in Pyongyang known to be from Naklang District of Han District can also be thought of as the culture of Naklang reigned by King Choi-Lee. Therefore, since Naklang ruled by King Choi-Lee was located at the Basin of Daedong River at that time, the assertion of Naklang Districtof Han being located at the Basin of Daedong River can be disproved.
